Apr 6-7 – Bryan Xu’s Eagle Project
Where: Franklin Park, Morse Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002
Date and time: Saturday, April 6, 9am-4:30pm and Sunday, April 7, 9am-4:30 pm.
What: We are planting 55 trees, installing fencing, mulching and watering. If possible, please bring work gloves, rakes and shovels. Please dress appropriately for the weather in clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Food, snacks and water will be provided.

Mar 16 & Apr 20 – Merit Badge College – Merit badge college is a great opportunity for a Scout to make big strides in advancement. In the course of two weekends, a Scout can complete 2 Eagle badges or up to 4 elective badges. Registration just opened for the next one, which will be held on 3/16 AND 4/20 (you must attend both dates). For more info, click here

Reminders

Merit Badge Office Hours – In an effort to help Scouts complete any unfinished merit badges, we will now be offering “Office Hours” by appointment on Monday nights from 7:00-7:30. If you/your Scout has a questions about a merit badge or wants to have work evaluated, please fill out the form and we will schedule time with a counselor or instructor. Click here to signup.

Scoutbook – All Scouts and parents MUST have a Scoutbook login in order to submit, track, and manage advancement progress and register for Troop activities. In addition, all intra-Troop communication (texts and emails) is handled via Scoutbook’s messaging platform.

Troop 542 Uniforms – Troop 542 requires Scouts and leaders to wear proper uniforms at our meetings (Class A shirt, green shorts/ pants, Scout belt and socks as well as a Troop 542 neckerchief and slide. If you need to make your uniform complete, please see Paƫ DiFulgo at our meetings. She has the following items available for purchase

Sea Base 2024 – Sea Base will be our high adventure trip June 29- July 7, 2024. We will go to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands for a sailing adventure with SCUBA diving for those who have SCUBA certification. We have five full crews and have a waiting list at this time. Please continue to pay $225 or $250 (SCUBA) each month.

Wawa Coupons – Troop 542 raises money for the troop by selling Wawa coupons redeemable for their 6″ Shorti Hoagie. The coupons are $4 which is less than the value of the hoagie and a portion of the $4 goes to the troop to support its activities. This is a great deal! Feb 23-25 – February Camping Camping – Skiing/Waterpark – We spent the weekend in cabins at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in NJ and headed over to Camelback Resort on Saturday for skiing on the mountain or swimming at their Aquatopia Waterpark.
