In June, in celebration of Father’s Day, Troop 542 invited the dads of the Scouts to a day of rafting on the Delaware River. There was good weather and river conditions for rafting, which made for a smooth trip. In the evening, the troop honored the tradition of a steak dinner cooked by the adults, and a volleyball tournament where dads and sons alike played together. Sunday was met with a wonderful interfaith service which included both sons and dads alike, before departing for home in the late morning. The troop loved having the dads as part of this annual tradition on the water, and can’t wait until next year, where the troop will having another day on the water, this time enjoying it in canoes.
