Scouting is fun, but there's much more to it than that!
Scouts learn SKILLS through our Merit Badge program and activities.
- Camping
- Personal Life Skills
- Swimming
- Hiking
- Travel to remote locations
Scouts learn LEADERSHIP by taking on positions of responsibility within the Troop.
- Service
- Leadership
- Life-long Skills
Most importantly, Scouts develop CHARACTER as they learn Scouting’s values. After all, if we’re training skilled leaders, it’s important that they lead in the right direction.
- Grow into responsible adulthood by developing core values based on the Scout Oath and Law (the “Spirit of Scouting”)
- Duty to God
- Duty to Others
- Duty to Self
These concepts are expressed in the Mission and Vision of the Boy Scouts of America.
