The Scouts are coming! On Friday, March 29, 2025, Troop 542 traveled to Boston, MA, for its annual bus trip. After a six-hour drive, Scouts checked into their hotel and got some well-needed rest before the following day’s activities. Saturday began with a quick breakfast before the Scouts departed for Fenway Park. Scouts toured the historic park, viewing Ted Williams’ red seat, the Green Monster, and the amazing view from the highest seats and the press box. After the visit, Scouts ate their brown bag lunches and headed to the Freedom Trail. During the afternoon, Scouts hiked the 2.5-mile path through Boston, taking in many significant historic landmarks, burial grounds, monuments, and more. To round out the day, Scouts enjoyed a buffet dinner and a quick dip at the hotel pool before heading to bed.
The next day, Troop 542 set out early for Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT. On the way, Scouts participated in an interfaith service on the bus led by our Chaplain Aide. At Mystic Seaport, they saw the historic area of shipbuilding since the 1600s. After touring numerous ships and vessels, the Troop headed home, stopping for lunch at Chipotle. Scouts are already planning next year’s bus trip with hopes to tour Washington, DC, or another major U.S. city.
