Liberty Jam: A weekend of bonding and patriotism

From May 1st to May 3rd, 2026, Troop 542 traveled to Green Lane Park for a weekend of excitement and adventure at the Liberty Jam event. Hosted by the Cradle of Liberty Council, Liberty Jam celebrated the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence while promoting the values and future of Scouting. Our troop gathered to experience a weekend filled with patriotism and outdoor adventure.

Saturday was the highlight of the trip. Scouts participated in a wide variety of activities including fishing, canoeing, scoutcraft, archery, and woodcarving. Liberty Jam featured “program villages” that focused on topics such as Technology & Innovation, Scouting Heritage, and Aquatics. Scouts explored demonstrations and historical reenactments that brought American history to life.  Food trucks and vendors located throughout the event provided lunch and refreshments for participants during the busy day. In addition to the outdoor activities, scouts attended a talent show as well. The combination of adventure and learning made the day unforgettable.

At night, Liberty Jam transformed into a festival featuring live music, entertainment, and a strong sense of celebration. The event concluded with a closing ceremony that featured awards, announcements, and a live DJ performance that celebrated the success of the weekend. The ceremony served as a memorable ending to an action-packed experience and highlighted the values of Scouting that defined Liberty Jam 2026 for Troop 542.
